ICONS The company crest takes its inspiration from the stately home domiciled on the estate grounds. Constructed for a noble family, the stately home dates back to 1836 and the original initials have been adapted to accommodate the Valerio family monograms
STELE OF CALIDIUS AND FANNIA VOLUPTAS Calidio and Fannia are names derived from an ancient Isernian stone stele discovered in a nearby vineyard, depicting what is probably the first vignette; a humorous dialogue between a Roman soldier and an Innkeeper that is currently housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris. It is an object of tremendous local importance as it pertains to this area and has served as inspiration for the aforementioned wines.
A PIECE OF THE FRATERNA FOUNTAIN The elegant Fraterna Fountain is an important historical symbol of the city of Isernia. Considered amongst the most beautiful in Italy, with six jets of water, from the unusual shapes of a loggia, made of blocks of compact limestone, it is one of the most significant and important works in the Pentro area and is located in the heart of the historic centre of the city.
CARTOUCHE OF CONTADO DI MOLISE Sannazzaro is inspired by the nearby unspoiled area in which the grapes for this particular wine are harvested, its label depicting the coat of arms denoting the ancient ‘Contado di Molise’.
CORNUCOPIA The label portrays the cornucopia, symbol of a plentiful harvest and nourishment, prosperity and spiritual abundance and is attributed to several Greek and Roman deities. The wine takes its name from an ancient Roman festival held in honour of Ops Consiva, an inspiration for our sparkling wine and the goddess of agricultural resources who was also worshipped in the nearby Amphitheatre ‘Teatro Sannitico di Pietrabbondante’.
